I was stationed 1969 to 1970 at Vin Long (C Trp 7/1st Air Cav) and was in the Infantry Plt and later as door gunner on UH-60. Was also known as the German boy. Ammo dump went up in smoke during my time there. Anyone remembers that day. Don't remember much about names there and only ran into one brother since then.

I was in D Troop 7/1 from October 69 to October 70. It was a good group of guys and probably remains the biggest milestone in my life. I still have an absolute appreciation of life and our good fortune in the USA after that experience. A hot shower and a flush toilet, paved roads and a real home are not taken for granted. Such fond memories of a time so long ago. I regret that I did not keep in touch with any of our war time buddies, but all I wanted to do was get out of the army and go home. I am a lucky guy and have a good life. I really appreciate those soldiers that I served with and I am very proud to be a combat veteran who served in Viet Nam.
